AsiaWorld-Expo is a world-class exhibition, convention and performance venue located on Chek Lap Kok Island, Hong Kong. It offers over 70,000 square metres of rentable spaces for exhibitions, conventions, concerts, sports competitions and other entertainment events.
It officially opened in 2005, housing some of the territory's largest and most modern events facilities, including the AsiaWorld - Arena, the biggest purpose-built indoor seated entertainment arena in Hong Kong with a maximum capacity of 14,000.
The arena is located on the East side of AsiaWorld-Expo, boasting a total floor space of 10,880 square metres and 19-metre high ceiling. It has already staged a wide spectrum of events, including large-scale conferences, corporate functions, beauty pageants and concerts by international superstars such as Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton, John Legend, Oasis, Westlife and Bruno Mars. Popular boy band One Direction is set to perform at the AsiaWorld-Arena on March 2015 for the On The Road Again Tour.
Other facilities include the AsiaWorld-Summit, Hong Kong's largest indoor conference and banquet venue that seats 700 to 5,000 persons; the Runway 11, a conference and function hall that can accommodate 500 to 3,800 guests; and several ground-level, column-free exhibition halls with high ceiling clearance of 10 to 19 metres.
AsiaWorld-Expo is located beside the Hong Kong International Airport and can be easily accessed by various public and private transport.
