Deep Water Bay Beach is an uncrowded strip of beach just beneath Violet Hill in Deep Water Bay on the southern shore of Hong Kong Island. It is adjacent to the more popular Repulse Bay and can be reached by Island Road, a road connecting Repulse Bay and Wong Chuk Hang.
Seaview Promenade is a pathway connecting the two beaches and allows joggers and walkers to exercise alongside the seashore while admiring the stunning sea view.
While tourists have yet to discover its beauty, Deep Water Bay Beach has become a favorite hang out among locals in the area. The residents of townhouse developments and apartment complexes built on the hills of Deep Water Bay enjoy picturesque views of the Hong Kong Golf Club and the bay.
The beach have clean facilities including changing rooms, showers and barbecue pits. The Aberdeen Tunnel offers quick access to the commercial and shopping centres of Hong Kong, and Central is a mere 15 minutes away.
You can reach Deep Water Bay by taking buses number 6 or 6A, which you can board at Exchange Square. These are the same bus routes that can take you to Stanley, Aberdeen and Ocean Park, all better attractions than what Deep Water Bay has to offer for visitors to Hong Kong.
