Hong Kong City Hall - Central, Hong KongThe Hong Kong City Hall is a complex providing municipal services, performance venues and libraries located at 5 Edinburgh Place, Central, Hong Kong. Unlike most city halls, it does not contain offices for city administrators but offers cultural and entertainment venues for the public. The Central Library, Hong Kong Art Museum, and Hong Kong Museum of History used to be located here.

The complex is comprised of the 12-storey High Block, the 3-storey Low Block and a memorial garden, which were built in the late 1950s and completed in 1962. It serves as replacement to the original city hall which was located at the current sites of the HSBC Hong Kong headquarters building and the Bank of China Building.

The High Block is in the south-western end of the complex and houses the City Hall Library (9th – 11th floors), a 260-square-foot Exhibition Gallery (7th floor), a Recital Hall (8th floor), two Committee Rooms (7th floor) and the Marriage Registry (1st floor).

The Low Block is located at the eastern end of the site and contains a 1,434-seater Concert Hall (mezzanine level), the URBTIX Box Office, a 590-square metre Exhibition Hall, a 463-seater Theatre, Performing Arts Shop, an enquiry counter. There are also dining establishments including a continental deli and wine shop (at the foyer), Maxim's Palace (2nd floor) serving Chinese cuisine, and Maxim's Cafe (1st floor) offering European dishes.

The City Hall Memorial Garden was built in honor of those who died in the war years between 1941 and 1945. It features a 12-sided Memorial Shrine surrounded by a pond and contains plaques listing the units involved in the defence of Hong Kong. The beautifully landscaped garden provides a tranquil respite in the midst of Central's hustle and bustle.

The Hong Kong City Hall is open daily, from 9am to 11pm, while the Memorial Garden opens from 7:30am to 10:30pm. The Memorial Shrine is open to the public on the first Sunday of every month only, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
