The Hong Kong Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Hung Hom, Kowloon. It was built in 1983 and can accommodate 12,500 people. It is the second largest indoor multipurpose venue in Hong Kong, after the AsiaWorld-Arena.
The coliseum's minimalist and unique architectural style (it looks like an inverted pyramid) makes it one of the most eye-catching buildings in Hong Kong. It has become one of the major venues for world-class events in the city. It is comprised of the main Arena, the Piazza and a number of conference rooms.
The pillar-less design of the arena provides the audience with unobstructed view of the stage. State of the art technical equipment, such as the 4-side colour television projection system, add to the total viewing pleasure.
Aside from hosting sporting events, the Hong Kong coliseum is also a favorite venue for concerts, both by local and international stars. Ice skating performances are also held there as well as the annual Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant.
