15 Historic Buildings in Hong Kong to be Opened to the Public for Heritage Fiesta 2017

Fifteen well-preserved historic buildings that are related to Hong Kong’s law and order will be opened to the public for Heritage Fiesta 2017. The event, which is presented by Commissioner for Heritage’s Office of the Development Bureau and will be held from 1st October to 30th November 2017, aims to give the public an opportunity to appreciate these iconic buildings that have played a role in Hong Kong’s law and order, and allow the public to learn about their histories and architectural styles.

The participating historic buildings (in no particular order) are:

  • 1881 Heritage
  • Green Hub
  • Jao Tsung-I Academy
  • Law Ting Pong Scout Centre, New Territories East Region, Scout Association of Hong Kong
  • Man Mo Temple Compound
  • Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre
  • Savannah College of Art and Design (Hong Kong)
  • South Wing of David Trench Rehabilitation Centre
  • Stanley Wellcome
  • Stewards High Rock Centre
  • Tai O Heritage Hotel
  • Tai Po District Junior Police Call Clubhouse
  • The Warehouse Teenage Club
  • Western Magistracy Building
  • Yamen Park Office and Exhibition Rooms, Kowloon Walled City Park

The public is welcome to make visits to these historic buildings during specific opening hours. A Heritage Fiesta 2017 pamphlet will be available at the featured historic buildings during the event period. It can also be obtained from Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Hong Kong Science Museum and Hong Kong Space Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum in Mid-Levels, Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware in Central, the Museum of Coastal Defence in Shau Kei Wan, temples under the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, visitor centres of the Hong Kong Tourism Board in Tsim Sha Tsui and at the Peak, as well as at Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok.
