Located at 75 Chai Wan Road, Siu Sai Wan, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village is touted as the first holiday village in urban Hong Kong. The entire village used to be the Lyemun Barracks that was converted into a leisure park run by the government in 1985.
Today, Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village is open to the public and features facilities for a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, such as soccer, gate ball, basketball, tennis, archery, indoor bowls, a swimming pool, climbing and badminton, plus barbecue sites.
The soldiers quarters are now transformed into small living quarters for the holiday village.
Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village also has a horse-riding school with a large and a small paddocks. It has stalls that can accommodate about 30 horses and also a hacking route with spectacular views.
