The Cheung Sha Beach, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Hong Kong for its white sand, pristine waters and excellent wave and wind conditions, provides excellent opportunities to a wide array of water sports including kayaking, board surfing, windsurfing and water skiing. The water sports centre offers lessons and equipment to visitors.
Apart from water activities, Palm Beach is also known for two unique camping options: a TeePee Village and Safari Bush Campers. The sprawling grassy lawn and surrounding lush trees provides refreshing backdrops to these unusual accommodations.
The TeePee Village features several Native American TeePees arranged in a circle on a grassy lawn. Hand-painted with ethnic designs, the smaller teepees can accommodate an entire family while the larger ones can be the sleeping quarters of up to 20 people. Sleeping bags and bedding are provided. In the middle of the village are picnic tables and barbecue pits. Other recreational facilities include dart boards and a volleyball court.
On another grassy area are the Safari Bush Campers, tents inspired by the Great African experience. Designed to provide a comfortable camping experience, the tents are equipped with such amenities as air-beds, proper bedding, air cooler and exclusive camping table and chairs. Depending on size, the campers can accommodate up to six people.
Palm Beach is open all year round. To get there, ferry to Mui Wo from Central Pier 6 and taxi or bus 1,2,4 or A35. Alternatively, MTR to Tung Chung then taxi or bus 11, 23 or A35 at the Bus Terminus.
