The AIA Great European Carnival returns to Hong Kong after an 8-year hiatus. Located in a site covering over 36,000 square metres in the New Central Harbourfront, the carnival opened in December 23, 2014 and will run until late February 2015.
The last time the carnival came to Hong Kong was in 2006/2007. It will feature more than 30 state-of-the art rides, traditional fair attractions, performances by European entertainers, international food & beverage kiosks and a shopping bazaar. Five hundred thousand stuffed toys will be given away as prizes in brand new games specially made for the carnival.
The carnival's centerpiece is a 1,000-square metre outdoor ice skating rink, which was flown in from The Netherlands and is the same size as the one in Rockefeller Square in New York.
Situated in a prime position on the Central Harbourfront, the carnival is expected to attract up to two million people as it spans all the major holidays including Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, and Chinese New Year.
The AIA Great European Carnival is located at the New Central Harbourfront along Lung Wo Road, Central, Hong Kong. Opening hours are from 11am to 11pm daily. Tickets for holidays and weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) cost HK$125 for adults including HK$100 tokens for games and rides, HK$90 for children (3-11) including HK$70 tokens. Tickets for weekdays (Monday to Thursday) cost HK$90 including HK$20 tokens.
